Of a tickly cough
Is more than the occasional
Barking bout.
The pain is mild,
the agitation negligible
But the anguish in not being able to speak,
the sore headed de-habilitating fever
That stops you
Prevents you
Holds you down
This is the real menace nay the terror of
A bit of the sniffles.
